“Kantades”

mandolino

Co-Organised by KITE Music, moosootoo (http://moosootoo.co.uk) and the Ionian Society (http://theioniansociety.org/)

“Kantades” means Seranades, songs and tunes written “to honour or express love for someone”. Such songs can be heard in various parts of Greece and Cyprus.

The Ionian Islands in particular have kept a long and precious tradition of seranades clearly influenced by the music of neighboring Italy. We are taking the opportunity to stage such an event at Mythopolis with lots of singing, guitar and mandolin playing. We will be joined by the members of the GPA Youth Choir & Orchestra!

Where: Mythopolis, 277 City Road, Angel, London, EC1V 1LA
